Realities of Internet Marketing

So you are interested in becoming an internet marketer most likely due to some of these reasons like, being able to work from home, no more 9 to 5, more time with families and also there is a lot of money out there to be made as well. This is all true, but there are some harsh realities of this business too.

Internet Marketing has low start up costs at least it is much cheaper then getting your MBA, but you are still are going to need to get an education. You can get this education by the school of hard knocks, or you can go out and buy some of the many IM products being sold by so many affiliate marketers, some being great and well some are just a complete waste of money that is better spent on something else. I have tried many products and really have only found one that has the tools, the resources and the information I needed to make some success. One thing here though I am not trying to sell this product in this article, I am just explaining some of the truths of this business that sometimes is not being told.

If we do a search on this subject on Google or where-ever almost everything is saying how easy it is and how their product will make it happen overnight. Well it does not happen overnight and it is not easy at all and it is not cheap to compete.

You must realize that the guys who are in the top ten listings on the search engines for popular niches are the guys making the money and these guys also have the resources to keep themselves in that position. If you are just beginning do not believe that you can get yourself into these competitive niches. You will either need a ton of money to spend on outsourcing the work to SEO people in other countries or you will not get any sleep.

Other things are to get ranked on a search engine your site needs domain age too. If you just register a new domain, it will take at least two months to start to show in the search engines and if it does show it will be so far back in the searches that you may get only a small trickle of traffic. Small trickles do not lead to money. You need a waterfall the size of Niagra Falls to earn a substantial amount of money.

So what do you do if you do not have months to get traffic to your site. Well you can then enter into the domain of pay per click. You can have immediate traffic when you go the pay per click route, but you also must have money. If you have money then you also must be able to find the keywords that are targeted for the product you are trying to sell and then you must be able to convert that traffic into sales on your website. To find these keywords though you can spend hundreds if not thousands of your hard earned dollars. Again here you can find many products out there that say their way is the best way to do pay per click and you will be making money in a matter of hours. Blah blah blah! This is False information, you need the truth.

The only truth I have is it is hard, not just a little bit hard, but really hard to make money online. If you find the right product, build the right funnel and find the right traffic then you are off to the races. It can take a few months to start to make some money, and it will be less then what you have spent to make it. All I can say though, is persistence with this venture is your way to success in this business, as well as finding the right internet marketing tools and education.

I hope this article does not scare you away from trying to earn money online as it was not meant to do that. I just wanted to express something that most will not say that it is hard work building a business online.
I know this because I am experiencing this in my business online.

I wish everyone success in their own ventures!
